Screening
Screening can look at the whole health picture

Healthy eating, sensible exercise, and making sure we are in general good health is no more than common sense to ensure we have a happy, long life that is high on quality.
That applies as much to each of us as individuals as it does to our family and, in business, to our people – our most valuable asset. But it is all too easy to forget about our health and all the good intentions to keep fit and eat properly until an occasional ache becomes a pain or we become unwell.
Prevention is always better than cure but even if we keep to a proper diet and exercise programme, it may not avoid all the risks to our health – many of them unseen and without symptoms in the earliest stages when they are easiest to treat. So, it makes sense to consider a regular, full check-up to make sure everything inside is working properly and to explore those little aches or anxieties that rarely seem enough in themselves to take yourself off to your GP.
Screening with lifedynamic involves a dedicated health screening unit where you can be checked out through a personalised series of tests and counselled by a doctor on your health and wellbeing. It takes around two hours in total, including your examination and discussion with one of our doctors. That doctor’s appointment can take up to an hour so there is no chance you will feel rushed if there is anything that needs explaining to you.
Following your health screen, a full medical report and written advice, including recommendations for further specific tests or specialist consultations that are considered necessary, will be sent to you with, if you wish, a copy to your GP so that he or she has a full picture for future reference.
Some of the tests, like blood pressure, are those that your GP may choose to do if you visit the surgery, depending on your age or symptoms you present, but it is a rare general practice that has the time or the resources to undertake the full spectrum of evidence-based checks that are part of a private health screen.
Routine health risk assessments are supplemented by blood count and cholesterol tests, diabetes, liver and enzyme, bone and gout tests and urinalysis, lung and heart function, tests for colon disease and for glaucoma – only usually available as part of an eye test.
For men, special screens are included to check for testicular problems and for the over 40s, for potential disease of the prostate.
Breast mammography can be included in the health screen for women over 40. Whether it is for
Regular checks will identify any changes in your test results and your health to help you keep in top condition.
