What is a Nutritional Therapist?

A qualified health professional who uses optimum nutrition to assist individuals to maximize their chances of enhancing their health and preventing illness.

A Nutritional Therapist focuses on dietary adjustment as the starting point in this process. If appropriate, this may be supported with the use of nutritional supplements. However, supplements are not seen as a substitute for making positive dietary and lifestyle changes.

A Nutritional Therapist may also suggest _various tests, if necessary, to further tailor an individual's nutritional programme.

Who may benefit from Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional Therapy is appropriate for anyone wishing to maximize their chances of enhancing their health and preventing illness.

It can help combat many symptoms associated with modern living including low energy, mood swings, stress, depression, disturbed sleep and poor concentration.

Nutritional Therapy can benefit many common health issues. Tamzin's specialist areas include:

  • general health and wellbeing
  • cardiovascular conditions
  • digestive issues (constipation, bloating, irritable bowel syndrome)
  • hormone imbalances (menopause, stress)
  • food allergies and sensitivities
  • sports nutrition
  • vegetarian health
Many of the above are becoming increasingly common complaints and changing what we eat is a powerful tool in these areas.

A tailored service to meet your individual needs

Tamzin provides a tailored nutritional approach designed to meet your individual needs. Her aim is not to be prescriptive, but to offer you simple and realistic nutritional guidance, so that "good nutrition made easy" naturally becomes a part of your everyday life.

One-to-one consultations offer in-depth nutritional support, providing a comprehensive nutritional programme and personalised health improvement plan.

The consultation process
  • Prior to your initial consultation you will be asked to complete a questionnaire providing a comprehensive health and lifestyle history.
  • Tamzin will review this before the consultation to ensure that the most benefit is gained from your time together.
  • The questionnaire will be checked during the consultation and extra detail gathered.
  • Relevant explanations will be provided and your comprehensive nutritional programme compiled, including a meal plan and nutritional supplements if appropriate.
  • Relevant tests may be recommended if _necessary to further tailor your programme.
  • A personalised health improvement plan will summarise your consultation.
  • The initial consultation can take up to 2 hours.
  • A follow-up consultation of up to 1 hour is recommended at 4-6 weeks to reassess and fine-tune your programme. The results from any tests will be discussed at this meeting.
  • Telephone and email support is available between consultations.
  • An average of 2-3 visits may be required. However, each client is individual and there is no set number of consultations that is appropriate for all. Some conditions may need long term support.
